Comprehensive training and fully accredited curriculum specially designed to assist students in learning "how to drive" is offered with the S-2300. It offers over 30 different lessons with over 240 driving scenarios and virtually unlimited "free driving." The S-2300 has been designed and produced to cover everything from pre-drive checks, how to operate a manual transmission, rules of the road, scanning principles and defensive driving techniques to how to avoid collisions, identify hazards, drive in adverse and impaired conditions. We can also check the medical conditions of individuals that have had strokes or brain injuries. The S-2300 offers a strong structural steel frame and support base, as well as actual automotive steering column and components, which are engineered to be robust and reliable, even under strenuous use. Our S-2300 system offers fully textured, high resolution, 3-dimensional graphics producing life-like images. It offers complex, unpredictable, multi-car traffic interaction, which exposes operators to the rigors of driving on challenging modern roadways. The S-2300 incorporates realistic vehicle dynamics, which are designed to ensure the simulator’s acceleration; braking and handling characteristics accurately mimic those of a real car. TRAINING CURRICULUM The interactive curriculums software is comprised of 30 chapters, 1 to 5 lessons per chapter. The software as a whole comprises a staggering 400+ exercises. It’s designed to utilize a building block approach, but also enables the instructor to select which lessons he/she wishes each student to master as part of his/her master lesson plan. Each one of these lessons has a number of possible scenarios for the student to drive. The chapters incorporate pre-tests and chapter tests to ensure the student is paying attention and mastering the material within each lesson. If the student doesn’t perform well, for example speeding excessively or driving off the road. The exercise is terminated and the student fails the lesson. Documentation of the student’s poor performance is recorded for the instructor. The student must repeat the lesson in order to try to achieve a passing score Getting Started First of all, the student is instructed how to use the simulator. Next, the student is thoroughly taught the basics of car operation. How to use dashboard controls and their functions, indicator lights, pre-drive checks, starting and stopping the engine are completely covered. How to use an automatic or manual transmission, maneuvering the car at slow speeds are also taught. Basic Training The student is instructed how to make proper lane changes (entering/leaving a lane), rules of intersections, turning left and right, merging and more. Each one of these chapters is taught without the use of traffic interaction. The student is given the opportunity to first learn the concepts before traffic complexity is added to complicate the driving experience. Intermediate Training Traffic interaction is now added and the student must learn to properly merge, exit a lane, handle busy intersections, correct following distances from other vehicles, passing other vehicles and much more. Advanced Training Advanced training offers adverse weather conditions, a number of collision avoidance and hazardous scenarios, driving while impaired scenario, reaction time testing and a complete chapter on how to properly maintain your vehicle. Rehabilitation Training The S-2300 allows full reporting capabilities providing documentation of driving performance, as well as a realistic simulation that will enable the OT or CDRS to assess cognitive and physical skills in a safe and controlled environment. Our concept involves performing two distinct tasks. We understand that first a therapist must assess critical driving skills and whether or not a client has the ability to operate a vehicle safely and effectively. Second, if rehabilitation is warranted it is equally important to train clients how to drive again. We accomplish both goals by using specialized training and testing software. The S-2300 system has assessment and evaluation modules designed to measure reaction time, form and color perception, driving accuracy, and memory recognition and strength capacities. This offers client’s comprehensive driver rehabilitation and education designed to assist clients in re-learning "how to drive." The S-2300 allows us to customize a driving program that fits the novice driver up to the experienced driver and help rehabilitate injured drivers. |
